Honey
I love honey.
My favorite thing growing up was a peanut butter and honey sandwich. My mom would pack it in my Brady Bunch lunchbox (which now sell for $600 on eBay) and by the time lunch rolled around the honey would have crystallized, and it was crunchy and sweet — the perfect texture and taste against the salty peanut butter and the soft bread.
I can still smell the smell of my lunchbox — the combination of peanut butter, chocolate milk, and sliced apples. Just thinking about it gives me comfort.
Did you know that honey pretty much never expires? It also has many healing properties. And the process of creating honey is one of the primary drivers behind our abundant food supply.
I think of my female relationships in my life as a sort of honey. They bring me such joy, help me heal, and help me grow.
Just thinking about them soothes me. They are the honey to my peanut butter. As our relationships grow and evolve — through cross-pollination of sharing ideas, laughs, and encouragement — they crystallize.
I have full confidence that my relationships with these women will never expire.
Just like honey.
Or the smell of my lunchbox.
XO, Jen
Hey, Jen…
Q: I have a casual outdoor summer wedding to attend. It’s going to be in the nineties! I want something cool and comfortable without showing too much arm or leg…but also stylish and elegant. Any ideas?
A: Yup. I do. It’s a little on the spendy side but a great investment piece because it’s classic and can be worn on a variety of occasions — from weddings to picnics to the farmer’s market or just around the house. And you will wear it forever.
The BELL Jane Blue Paisley Kaftan from Halsbrook. It’s back in stock by popular demand. Throw on a pair of wedge sandals like these Franco Sorto’s, and you’ll be cool, comfortable and collected.

Where have I been? Mortified, where adults read from their teenage diaries, has been around before podcasts were even a thing. I recently discovered it for myself and have been binge listening. If you haven’t already, take a listen. You will blush, cringe, and LOL.
